Organic production since 1992
Friland has specialised in organic meat produced with particularly high animal welfare. The company was established in 1992 and has since 1999 been a part of the Danish Crown group.
Together with Danish Animal Welfare Society, the company has developed a code of practice ensuring that the animals’ welfare and needs are met in the best possible way. Among other things, this means that our demands to the animal welfare of Friland’s organic pigs are stricter than the existing rules for organic pig production.
