Danish Crown announced today that Theis Brøgger has been appointed as Vice President for Group Communication and Public Affairs, effective April 1st. Theis Brøgger will succeed Astrid Gade Nielsen, who has chosen to pursue other interests after seven years with Danish Crown and a long and highly acclaimed career of 36 years in corporate communication in the food industry.
Theis Brøgger will be responsible for building Danish Crown’s reputation as a farmer owned food company that delivers its ambitious sustainability targets, as well as leading an open, transparent corporate communication strategy and building relations and collaboration with internal and external stakeholders.
Theis Brøgger brings 17 years of experience in corporate communication and strategic reputation management within an international organisation. Prior to joining Danish Crown, Theis Brøgger held various positions within Arla Foods, a global dairy cooperative, including director of media relations in Group and as Director of Corporate Communication and member of the leadership team in Arla Foods UK.
“During the process of identifying a successor, it was evident that Theis is the best candidate for the job as he is a clear communicator and has a strong track-record of navigating in a fast-moving organisation with a demanding multi-stakeholder environment. I am confident that Theis will help us further enhance our reputation as a food company that is committed to producing more sustainable meat for the world,” says Jais Valeur, CEO of Danish Crown.
"I am proud and excited to join Danish Crown at such an important time for the company, as it faces one of the most pressing challenges we face as a global community meeting nutritional needs of the growing population by providing sustainable, affordable, and accessible meat. I cannot wait to join the many talented and passionate colleagues and farmers in Danish Crown as we continue the company’s reputation journey and carry-on delivering food that can make a difference," says Theis Brøgger.
Commenting on the decision of Astrid Gade Nielsen to retire, Jais Valeur says:
“I would like to thank Astrid who has been with Danish Crown for seven years, leading the company’s communication strategy and activities across all markets and stakeholders. Under her tireless leadership, Danish Crown has strengthened its reputation as a responsible and innovative food producer, committed to sustainability, quality, and animal welfare. Astrid has also played a key role in communicating our vision to produce more sustainable food, and she has been a role model leader in Danish Crown."
“I am thankful to the management and farmers for giving me the opportunity to build a new identity and reputation of the company together with the great people in Danish Crown. However, I have had this dream of doing all the things that I had to postpone while I was clocking in many hours, and I have chosen to now fulfil that dream. I will be cheering for the company and the people of Danish Crown in its pursuit to make a difference,” said Astrid Gade Nielsen.
