With nearly 40 years of experience from A.P. Møller Mærsk and numerous board positions in Danish and international business, Søren Skou looks forward to contributing to the work of Danish Crown's Board of Directors and to the company.
"Danish Crown is a great, iconic Danish company that I have encountered all over the world through my previous work and been proud of as a Dane. Danish Crown has initiated extensive work to make the company more competitive and ensure future growth. I look forward to working with the board and management and hope to contribute to the important transformation the company is undergoing," says Søren Skou.
As a new board member, Søren Skou was unanimously approved by the board of representatives, and he is also the Nomination and Evaluation Committee's candidate to become the first ever external chair of Danish Crown's board when it is constituted in December.
Asger Krogsgaard, current chair of Danish Crown, is pleased to attract such a strong profile to Danish Crown.
"I would like to commend the thorough and extensive work that has been done by the members of the Nomination and Evaluation Committee. Søren Skou needs no further introduction as a businessman, and it is precisely a profile of such caliber that we had hoped and expected to attract to Danish Crown in our new governance model. I look forward to Søren coming in and contributing to the necessary transformation happening in Danish Crown for the benefit of us cooperative members," says Asger Krogsgaard.
As mentioned, Søren Skou has nearly 40 years of experience from A.P. Møller Mærsk, where he started as an 18-year-old shipping trainee in 1983 and ended with almost seven years as CEO of the company at the end of 2022. He currently holds several board positions and chairmanships including in Bygma Gruppen A/S, C.W. Obel A/S, Skyborn Renewables GmbH, VTG GmbH, among others.
Danish Crown's new board will constitute itself on December 19.
