Co-operation with Animal Protection Denmark
Animal welfare is the cornerstone of Friland’s existence. Ever since the company was established, we have cooperated with Animal Protection Denmark on developing a code of practice that goes beyond current Danish legislation to ensure that the natural behaviour and needs of pigs and cattle are met in the best possible way. So that consumers can always have absolute confidence in our products, Animal Protection Denmark acts as an independent control body, and vouches for the welfare of animals in several of Friland’s concepts.
The organisation approves and regularly checks the herds that supply Free Range pork. The meat from this concept is labelled ‘Approved by the Animal Protection Denmark’.
